FoodLyft Rider Terms
Effective date: 12 October 2026 Last updated: 12 October 2026
These Rider Terms govern your use of the FoodLyft Rider app. They are an agreement between you and FoodLyft ("FoodLyft", "we", "us").
By logging in to the Rider app you agree to these Rider Terms and our Privacy Policy. These terms are an electronic agreement under the Electronic Transactions Ordinance, 2002.
1. Your relationship with FoodLyft and the Vendor
1.1 You are given access to the Rider app by a Vendor (a restaurant, mart or other business on FoodLyft) that has engaged you to deliver its orders.
1.2 You are engaged by the Vendor, not by FoodLyft. FoodLyft is not your employer, does not pay you, and does not control your working hours. Nothing in these Rider Terms creates an employment, agency or partnership relationship between you and FoodLyft.
1.3 Your pay, tips, working hours, equipment, insurance, benefits, and any other terms of your work are agreed between you and the Vendor. Any claim about them must be made against the Vendor.
1.4 FoodLyft provides the Rider app to help you see, collect and deliver orders, navigate, collect payments and confirm delivery.
2. Eligibility and your responsibilities
You confirm and agree that:
- you are at least 18 years old;
- you hold a valid CNIC and a valid driving licence for the vehicle you use, and that vehicle is registered, roadworthy and lawfully insured;
- you will obey all traffic laws, wear a helmet when riding a motorcycle, and never use your phone in a way that is unsafe or illegal while driving;
- you will not ride under the influence of alcohol, drugs or any substance that affects your ability to ride safely;
- you will keep your account details and password private and not let anyone else use your account; and
- you are responsible for your own safety, your vehicle and your phone.
FoodLyft is not responsible for any accident, injury, loss or damage that occurs while you are riding or delivering, except to the extent caused by FoodLyft's own negligence.
3. Using the app
3.1 You may take orders from the pool shown to you or orders assigned to you by the Vendor. Once you claim an order, collect it promptly. Orders not picked up within the time the app shows (currently 30 minutes from when they are ready) are cancelled automatically.
3.2 Delivering. Mark arrival only when you are actually at the customer's location. Ask the customer for their delivery code and enter it to complete the delivery. Never ask for the customer's bank PIN, OTP or password.
3.3 Customer not available. If you cannot reach the customer, wait at the location for the time the app requires (currently 10 minutes) before marking a no-show, and take a clear photo of the door or location as the app asks. Do not mark a no-show unless it is true.
3.4 Handover without a code. If you hand over an order without the delivery code, you must take a photo as the app asks, and the order will be reviewed by support.
3.5 Offline deliveries. If you complete a delivery while offline, reconnect as soon as possible. Deliveries that reach our servers more than 30 minutes late count against you.
4. Cash and payments
4.1 For cash-on-delivery orders you collect the exact amount shown in the app on behalf of the Vendor. Confirm collection only when the cash is in your hand; this cannot be undone.
4.2 You must hand over all cash collected to the Vendor as agreed with the Vendor. FoodLyft does not collect, hold or settle cash.
4.3 Where the app allows, you may confirm that a customer's transfer has arrived. Only confirm a payment you have actually verified.
4.4 You must not ask the customer for any money that is not shown in the app, or for payment to any account not shown in the app.
5. Location data
5.1 While you have an active order (assigned, picked up, or arrived), the app collects your precise location, including in the background and when the app is closed, and shares it with the customer and the Vendor. On Android a notification shows while this is happening. This is needed to show customers where their order is, to verify arrivals and deliveries, and to resolve disputes.
5.2 Outside an active order the app does not stream your location. It may read your last known location once, while open, to sort nearby orders.
5.3 You can control location permissions in your phone settings, but you cannot take or deliver orders without them.
More details are in our Privacy Policy.
6. Customer information
You will see customers' names, addresses, locations, notes and contact details. You may use them only to deliver that order. You must not save, copy, share or post them, or contact a customer for any other reason, before or after delivery. Misuse of personal information may be an offence under the Prevention of Electronic Crimes Act, 2016.
7. Conduct
You must treat customers, Vendor staff and our staff with respect. You must not:
- harass, threaten, abuse or discriminate against anyone;
- tamper with, open or consume any order;
- make a false no-show, false delivery or false payment confirmation, or try to bypass the delivery code;
- ask customers to order or pay outside FoodLyft; or
- break any law while using the app.
8. Strikes and blocking
8.1 Complaints against you that are upheld, false no-shows, attempts to bypass delivery codes, late offline deliveries, fraud and other misconduct are recorded and may lead to strikes. Repeated strikes (currently 3 upheld complaints or false no-shows) or serious misconduct may lead to you being blocked from taking new orders, temporarily or permanently. Strikes against you may also count against the Vendor.
8.2 You will be notified in the app when you are blocked. Orders you are already carrying can still be completed.
8.3 Appeals. The Vendor may appeal a strike on your behalf once, within 7 days. You may also contact support@foodlyft.app to ask us to review a decision.
8.4 FoodLyft may suspend or remove your access to the Rider app at any time if you breach these Rider Terms or the law, or to protect the safety of others. The Vendor may also remove your access.
9. Disclaimers and limitation of liability
9.1 The Rider app is provided "as is". Maps, routes, distances and times are estimates and may be wrong. Use your own judgement and obey road signs and traffic police.
9.2 Nothing in these terms excludes liability for fraud, or for death or personal injury caused by FoodLyft's own negligence, or any liability that cannot be excluded by law. Subject to that, FoodLyft is not liable for any indirect or consequential loss, or for loss of earnings, and its total liability to you in any 12-month period is limited to Rs 5,000.
10. Indemnity
You agree to indemnify FoodLyft against any claim, loss or cost arising from your breach of these Rider Terms, your conduct while delivering, or your breach of any law.
11. General
11.1 These Rider Terms are governed by the laws of Pakistan. Disputes with FoodLyft will first be discussed amicably for 30 days, and then resolved by a sole arbitrator under the Arbitration Act, 1940, seated in Lahore, in English. Subject to that, the courts at Lahore have exclusive jurisdiction. Nothing here limits any right you have against the Vendor or any non-waivable right under law.
11.2 We may update these Rider Terms by notice in the app at least 7 days before the change takes effect. Continued use after that date means you accept the change.
11.3 If any part of these terms is invalid, the rest remains in force. The English version prevails over any translation.
